Nobody wants to squint at a small phone between points. Put a tablet on the fence and you get court-sized scoring that updates on its own.
PRO onlyA tablet — the bigger the better —, your phone with a camera, and both of them online. They do not need to be on the same wifi, and you don't need to set up a hotspot: they talk over the internet, not over the club's network. The tablet can be on wifi and your phone on mobile data — it still works. An old phone connects too, but from the back of the court you can barely read it: use a tablet if you can.
Then you do need to get the tablet online, because the score travels over the internet: with no connection it freezes on the last thing it saw. The easiest way is to share your phone's data (Personal hotspot) and connect the tablet to it. Note this isn't about being on the same network — that doesn't matter — it's about the tablet having internet at all. It uses very little data: only the points travel, not video.
On the tablet open Padel Rank and tap Other ways to sign in → Use as court display. A large QR code appears. That device needs no account and nobody has to sign in: it only shows the score. Leave it on that screen.
On your phone, with the match open in live scoring, tap the screen icon (top right) and pick Connect court display. Point the camera at the QR on the tablet. You'll see Display connected and the tablet switches to the live score.
You keep scoring on your phone or watch, by voice or by tapping. The fence screen updates itself on every point, untouched.
The score is huge, each pair has its own colour and a ball marks who serves. The moments that matter appear big: GOLDEN POINT, SET POINT, MATCH POINT.
When scoring by voice, the screen shows SCORING… while you speak, and the new score appears pulsing for a few seconds. So all four know whether what they see is the latest.
If the sun washes it out, switch to sun mode: white background, black text. It's in the corner of the screen itself.
When the match ends the screen celebrates and returns to the QR on its own, ready for the next one. If after a 2-0 you decide to play a third set, it stays put.
Not scoring live yet? Start with the scoring guide. And if you want to follow a match from the sofa, that's following live. This needs PRO: the court display follows the live scoreboard, which is a PRO feature.
